Submissions are accepted year-round! If accepted, our team of editors will work with the author through several rounds of edits, and our graphic designers will create custom graphics for the submission as well. Submissions include original research (with PI approval if conducted within a BU Lab), writing from classes, photography, and art (scanned at high resolution or digital). All accepted submissions will be published online through our website; various selected pieces will be featured in our annual print edition, which will be provided to all contributors free of charge.
Categories of Submissions (we as an organization will organize your piece into a category, but are always open to suggestions). News: shorter, more concise pieces about a current issue or development in the science world. Features: more lengthy, feature pieces of original research. Science & Society: pieces that focus more on the impact of a concept of science on a population or society as a whole. Reviews: a piece that reviews various sources regarding a certain topic and provides a major overview of previous source material on the given topic.
We use the Chicago citation style in all our papers. For more in-depth information about our citation and reference style, email us!
